FEATURED ARTIST

Annie lives, fishes and creates art on the North Atlantic sea coast of America. Her home studio is based in Montauk, NY at the eastern tip of Long Island. There and wherever she travels she practices the age old Japanese printmaking craft of Gyotaku.

Using this nature printing technique with water soluble, non-toxic inks and freshly caught fish, she makes original hand made relief prints on a variety of new, recycled and vintage fabrics. The edible fish are returned to the fisherman or are shared with family and friends.

Annie has been having fun discovering new ways to incorporate her prints into more elaborate mixed media pieces, introducing additional colors, fine metals like silver and gold, and found objects. The pure and simple images still comprise a large part of her inventory, however, commissions and bold experiments continuously entice.
